For Morrissey and Marr it was a simple knock on the door and a question of ‘Do you wanna write some songs?’ For Manchester’s False Nines, the key players were brought together by something much more contemporary.
Living five minutes apart without knowing of each other's existence, in England’s most musical city, guitarist George and singer Aaron were brought together after Field Music assisted the former’s search for a frontman via the aforementioned social network. Fuelled by fine ales, a discussion about the changing role of the centre forward in modern football and an immediate musical affinity, plans were hatched.
Their very first demo 'Call It Wrong' was picked up and played regularly by BBC 6 Music's Marc Riley in the latter part of 2014, which led to the signing to LDN Recordings for their debut 'Can't Afford To Wonder', which has been championed by 6 Music's Steve Lamacq and all is set for release on 27.11.15.
