Interview: Boomaye! Nigerian Musician NazB is Killing The Game

Afrobeat is ready to explode internationally, and Nigerian-born Swiss-based musician NazB is ready to take over. Find out the scoop behind his music and his new music video Boomaye.

Who are you?

I’m Michael Ikenna Ozigbo Professionally known as NazB. Swiss based hiphop artist originally from Nigeria.

How did you get into making music?

As a child growing up in Nigeria, i was surrounded by the music of my native West African homeland. With members of my immediate and extended family playing instruments and singing, music was a part of my upbringing.

Stylistically, i drew influences from some of the most respected hip-hop/ afro beats legends of my time including 2Pac, Fela kuti, Dr. Dre, Akon, Jay Z and the Notorious BIG just to name a few.

What’s the inspiration behind the song and music video?

well, is simple. i love making music and all kind of styles. just thought about doing a new Afro dance song/video in celebration of the African dance vibe and culture.

What should fans look out for?

Signed a new deal with Bow Bowah Records Switzerland for the release of my new single titled “Attention” Produced by Andy Prinz & Alexander Yakovlev.
“Attention” (single) is an Up-beat dance/EDM song with hip-hop style vocals and a thick male accent (sounds British) with accompanying female vocals singing the melodic chorus. album dropping soon on iTunes and all major digital stores. be on the lookout for it cuz this is something different from what i’ve been doing so far.

Anything else to share? How can fans get in touch?

I’m open for collaborations but please only with serious musicians out there.

VTYO Thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to be part of what you do. I am blessed to be part of your network.
